Teddy Riner has not competed in an IJF event since winning his third individual Olympic gold medal in the 2024 Paris Games. However, he has said he plans to compete in the 2028 LA Games.
Since winning his historic third individual Olympic gold medal, Riner has undergone surgery for his right elbow.
If you are among the fans who wonder when will he return to competition, you don’t have to wonder anymore. Riner has announced that he will compete at the 2026 Lausanne Grand Slam at the end of August.
“Returning to competition is always a highlight,” Riner said. “Lausanne is an important step to get back into the rhythm and regain my feel for the sport,” he posted on social media.
