-𝟰𝟴𝗸𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱: 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼 (𝗝𝗣𝗡)
Mitsuki Kondo (JPN) threw her first opponent, Lisa Peherstorfer (AUT) with osoto-gari for yuko then pinned her for ippon. Then she threw Diana Burkeyeva (KAZ) with a sticky foot kosoto for yuko and a cross-grip tai-otoshi for ippon. She pinned Sila Ersin (TUR) with a Shiba Lock for ippon. In her semifinal she managed to pin Amber Gerjes (NED) in the dying seconds of their match, for ippon. In the final, against Eva Perez Soler (ESP), she once again used a cross-grip tai-otoshi. She got a waza-ari for it but she immediately clamped on a hold-down to secure waza-ari-awasete-ippon.
-𝟲𝟬𝗸𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱: 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱 (𝗙𝗥𝗔)
Romain Valadier Picard (FRA) won his first match, against Olivier Naert (BEL), by throwing his with revers seoi-nage for waza-ari in Golden Score. Next, he defeated Asier Murillo Martinez De Lizarrondo (ESP). He threw him with seoi-otoshi for waza-ari very early on in the match and then later on he engaged in a very long groundwork sequence to pin him for waza-ari-awasete-ippon. He had a bit of a scare in his quarterfinal match, against Aman Bakytzhan (KAZ) who managed to pin him for yuko before he escaped. Midway through the match, he again very nearly got pinned but managed to escape. Valadier Picard seemed to be on the way to defeat when 15 seconds before the end of match time, he threw his opponent with his favorite seoi-otoshi to even up the scores with yuko. In Golden Score, he turned the tables on Bakytzhan and pinned him for the win. His semifinal match, against Sei Sato (JPN) was scoreless in regular time and ran for more than four minutes in Golden Score before Sato got his third shido. In the final, he threw Dilshot Khalmatov (UKR) with drop sode for yuko, then a cross-grip drop seoi for waza-ari. Right before regular time ended, Khalmatov countered him for yuko, then ran out of time. And with that Valadier Picard got his gold.
-𝟱𝟮𝗸𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱: 𝗢𝗶 (𝗝𝗣𝗡)
Iroha Oi (JPN) who is very good with her feet, defeated her first opponent, Ilaria Finestrone (ITA) with kosoto-gari for yuko and the pinned her with a Funakubo-style hara-zutsumi hold-down for ippon. She threw Gabriela Conceicao (BRA) with kosoto-gari for yuko, kouchi-gari for yuko, and then did another Funakubo-style hara-zutsumi to pin her opponent for ippon. She had a harder time against Ayumi Leiva Sanchez (ESP) but managed to knock her down with osoto-gari for yuko in Golden Score. In the final, she threw Roza Gyertyas (HUN) with kouchi-gari for yuko and held onto her lead until time was up.
-𝟲𝟲𝗸𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱: 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗲𝘃 (𝗔𝗭𝗘)
Ruslan Pashayev (AZE) started off well, countering an arm roll turnover attempt by Eran Fiks (ISR) with an arm roll turnover of his own, for an ippon hold-down. Next, he threw Matija Jeremic (SRB) with kosoto-gari for waza-ari but won by ippon when Jeremic got his third shido for false attack. A well-timed footsweep gave him a yuko win over Adrian Nieto Chinarro (ESP). In his semifinal match, he threw David Garcia Torne (ESP) with harai-goshi for yuko. Garcia Torne struck back with ouchi-gari for yuko, to even up the scores. Pashyev won it with a tewaza that took his opponent down for waza-ari. In the final, his opponent, Ronald Lima (BRA) scored first, with ouchi-gari for yuko midway through the match. With less than a minute to go, Pashayev evened up the scores with a footsweep. This took them into Golden Score where Pashayev used another footsweep to score waza-ari.
-𝟱𝟳𝗸𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱: 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗼 (𝗝𝗣𝗡)
Ayami Takano (JPN) is yet another Japanese newaza specialist. She won all her matches in groundwork. In her first match, she pinned Andjela Samardzic (BIH) very briefly for yuko, the threw her with uchimata for yuko, then pinned her for ippon. Next, she pinned Bianca Reis (BRA) for ippon. Jessica Lim (BRA) also lost by a hold-down for ippon. Takano’s semifinal opponent, Marta Garcia Martin (ESP) threw her with uchimata for yuko. But in the end, Takano finished her off with yet another one of her pins for ippon. The final was an all-Japan affair but her teammate Moa Ono (JPN) also succumbed to her groundwork and got strangled for ippon.
