Sebastian Teran showed why he was ranked No. 1 in the world for the Cadets -55kg division.
He began the day by scoring on Juan Alamo Torres (ARG) three times. The first was with kouchi-gari for yuko. Then he got a yoko-shiho-gatame for yuko. Then came a drop kata-guruma for waza-ari.
In his quarterfinal match, against Farid Khudiyev (AZE), he scored twice: uki-otoshi for yuko and then yoko-shiho-gatame for ippon.
Teran then threw Tamerlan Unezhev (RUS) in the semifinal with a sumi-gaeshi for yuko.
In the final, he threw Narek Davtyan (ARM) with kouchi-gari for waza-ari in the middle of the match and maintained that lead until the end, to win the -55kg gold.
